(More customer reviews)I've been using the T235-S1350RD for a couple of days and am impressed with the overall quality of the display and keyboard. As others have mentioned, the sound quality is poor and external speakers of some type are almost essential if music is to be played. (I'm thinking of the Logitech Z305 unit that connects to a USB port.)
I haven't used the system long enough to get a feel for battery life, but 6+ hours seems likely.
There is quite a bit of "bloatware" on the system, and even if you want to USE some of those programs (for example, Windows Live Photo Gallery) keep in mind that the supplied versions are NOT the most up-to-date. In other words, you will need to uninstall the supplied programs & download/reinstall any ones that you really want!
One strange "quirk": If I close the cover the system goes to SLEEP as expected, but any movement causes the system to WAKE UP! I assume this has to do with the HDD protection system, but it would seem that putting the system to SLEEP should cause the heads of the hard disk to be "parked" in a safe position. Has anyone else noticed this somewhat odd behavior? If so, is there any SAFE way to keep the system sleeping while it is being moved? (I couldn't find any TOSHIBA utility program that addresses this behavior, and I don't want to turn off the HDD protection system entirely...)
